2012-14 Co-Founder of Futures for Heroes, the organisation was created to deliver a wraparound service to vulnerable veterans. In addition to providing emergency accommodation for homeless veterans, I established Futures for Heroes Community Wood Recycling and Heroes to Hand in 2013, followed by a Shed project for Kent County Council. 2010-11 Business Champion, Myddfai, Brecon Beacon. Selected by the BBC for a one year BIG Lottery project, to support residents of a remote village set up a sustainable business, Village SOS was a prime time series in 2011 on rural regeneration and community enterprise. I oversaw the establishment of the Myddfai Trading Company, created a brand, designed and manufactured a wide range of gift products, set up a full ecommerce website and marketed the products nationally, as well as project managing the building of a state of the art community hall – finished on time and budget. www.myddfai.com

2002-06 Canterbury Christ Church University, Centre for Enterprise & Business Development – Head of Commercial Enterprise I led the business team, developing and delivering commercial and funded enterprise activities. My role included raising the profile of Canterbury Christ Church University with European, regional and local agencies through effective marketing and public relations. My team worked with small businesses across East Kent providing training and personal development workshops, networking events and conferences at campuses in Canterbury and Broadstairs.
1991-2001 Papeterie Ltd - Founder & Managing Director I founded Papeterie Eco-Friendly Trading in 1991 on a £60 a week Enterprise Grant. Initially an importer of recycled social stationery, supplying many charities and retailers, by 1995 Papeterie Ltd was the UK market leader in handmade and decorative papers. I sourced products directly from Thailand, India and Europe and via European and American wholesalers, supplying over 600 trade customers ranging from International manufacturers and High Street retailers to small craft businesses and a setting up a retail base in South West London.
